Our Hearings, Our Voice took part in an event for Hearings-experienced young people in Falkirk recently.
The free event at the Dawson Community Centre on Friday 28 April was open to children and young people to come and learn more about the Children’s Hearings System.
Organised by the Falkirk Champs Board, we were joined by Children’s Hearings Scotland, the Scottish Children’s Reporter Administration, Quarriers Children’s Rights Service and Who Cares? Scotland.
There was also a special input from the amazingly talented Scottish comedian Anna Devitt, who had experience of the Children’s Hearings System when she was younger.
We took the opportunity to tell the young people a little bit about the work of OHOV and some of the benefits of being a Board Members. We also had the chance to show the young people our interactive language bin and they were able to bin words they didn’t like. They also left with an OHOV goodie bag and they could take away a copy of our latest edition of VOICE magazine.
If you would like us to get involved in an event, please get in touch. We would love to hear from you.
